Hope you guys have had a great week! I wanted to share my new obsession... this Coconut Matcha Latte recipe! I am a coffee addict... like I LOVE my coffee. With the invention of the Keurig, it makes my addiction all the more easier. Any time of day, it's so easy to feed the coffee want. So I'm trying to be more conscious of my coffee in take.
I've always heard of Matcha lattes, but I was super skeptical. The green powder looked all gross and couldn't possibly taste good... I was wrong! Mixed with these ingredients, it's actually a nice, hot treat that feeds my coffee addict self. I tweaked what I found online & created this combo that I love! And BONUS, it's actually also great for speeding up your metabolism; it has a high concentration of antioxidants which are great for your skin; and how matcha has the same amount of caffeine as other types of teas, it also has an amino acid in it called L-theanine that creates calmness and brain power to focus and concentrate.
Here's how I make it:
Step 1: Boil 1/4 cup of water. In the bottom of a mug, add 1/4-1/2 tsp of Matcha green tea powder, then add the hot water to the mug with the matcha & stir
Step 2: Boil/heat to liking, 1 cup of unsweetened Almond Milk
Step 3: Add 1 tbsp of honey & 1/2 tbsp of coconut oil to the milk
Step 4: Froth milk and add-ins with a frother or pour milk and add-ins into blender to froth
Step 5: Pour the milk mixture over the matcha into the mug
Step 6: Add apple pie spice for topping & enjoy!
